Clifton High School Marching Band Finishes 6th at 3A State Marching Championship: "LEAVE NO DOUBT!"

On November 6th, the Clifton High School Marching Band made an unforgettable mark at the 3A State Marching Championship held in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. With their relentless dedication, precision, and passion for music, the band secured 6th place in the highly competitive event, marking a significant achievement in their marching season. The band's motto, "LEAVE NO DOUBT," perfectly encapsulated their performance of Alice — a display of excellence that left a lasting impression on the judges, fellow competitors, and fans alike.

A Season of Dedication and Hard Work

The journey to the 3A State Championship was no easy feat. The Clifton High School Marching Band, led by their talented directors, Mr. Matt Nelson, Mrs. Alison Hamilton and Mr. Robert Thomas, and Color Guard Director, Mrs. Dani Darst, had spent months perfecting their show, honing their musical and visual skills of the Color Guard, and pushing the limits of what they could achieve. Their performance, which seamlessly blended intricate formations and powerful music, reflected the countless hours of practice, sacrifice, and teamwork that had gone into their preparation.

The Big Day: A Stellar Performance at the Alamodome

On the day of the competition, the Clifton Marching Band entered the Alamodome with confidence and anticipation. The stakes were high, with some of the best bands in Texas vying for top honors. However, the Clifton Band, known for their unity and commitment to excellence, stepped onto the field with one goal in mind: make the finals. And, that is exactly what they did for the second consecutive year!

In the State Championship Finals, as the band took their positions, the crowd in the Alamodome was treated to a spectacular display of musicality, precision, and showmanship. From the opening fanfare to the final note, the Clifton Marching Band’s performance captivated the audience, showcasing their outstanding musicianship and remarkable visual presentation of Alice one last time. The crispness of their drill, the energy of their musicians, and the intensity of their performance resonated throughout the dome.

When the results were announced, Clifton High School’s Band was awarded 6th place, a remarkable achievement in a field of elite competitors. Their finish topped last year’s 9th place finish in the 3A State Marching Championship and was a testament to the band's hard work, perseverance, and passion for their craft. Though they narrowly missed a higher placement, their performance spoke volumes about their dedication to excellence, and the crowd erupted in applause, recognizing the sheer talent of these young musicians and color guard members.
