Walk Across Texas is an 8-week program designed to help Texans establish the habit of regular physical activity. According to Texas A&M Agrilife Extension this program was developed in 1996 and to date has had over 650,000 participants. This fall tradition for the CISD staff members is supported through the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Agent for Bosque County and will challenge teams of 8 to work together to walk the 832-mile goal in a friendly competition. As the team progresses, they are presented Texas History Facts and towns of interest snaking from Beaumont to Marshall, the birthplace of the boogie-woogie westward to El Paso.
The staff will be participating in a kick-off mile on Monday, September 30th and log miles up until November 24th, perfect timing for the hustle and bustle of the holiday season!
